Twisted Hate (Twisted # 3)
I just finished "Twisted Hate" by Ana Huang and wow! This enemies-to-lovers romance is to die for, and now let me tell you why!
Josh and Jules, oh my god, I don’t know where to start! The chemistry between them is electric! I held my breath during their interactions because Ana Huang did a fantastic job creating tension between these two. Josh is the attractive soon-to-be doctor who pushes her buttons, and Jules is this feisty, driven woman preparing for her bar exam!
And can we please talk about the iconic banter?! The way Jules and Josh verbally spar with each other had me highlighting passages like a literature student prepping for finals! Ana Huang has mastered the art of creating dialogue that crackles with tension while revealing so much about both characters. That scene in the bar where Jules completely demolishes Josh's ego in front of everyone? I had to put my book down and do a victory lap around my living room!
But what got me about this book is how it degrades typical enemies-to-lovers tropes. The hatred between Jules and Josh isn't just some shallow misunderstanding that could be cleared up with a single conversation - it has real roots and justification that makes their journey toward each other so much more satisfying. And the way their physical attraction completely betrays their mental determination to keep hating each other? It is the best kind of emotional torture!
