I just finished Ana Huang's "Twisted Lies" and I'm still catching my breath! I was so invested in this romance, I mean I couldn't stop reading and ended up staying up all night!
Allow me to introduce you to Christian Harper. He’s the kind of love interest that makes you seriously question your morals. Like do I care that he's a monster wearing a fancy suit? Not at all. Because for some reason, I'm still falling for him. The way he tries (and fails) to maintain his icy, untouchable image while being smitten with Stella? I was melting. And don’t even get me started on the sexual tension—it’s so thick you could cut it with a knife. I swear, I was holding my breath the entire time.
Then there’s Stella Alonso, a social media star who is both kind and reserved. I admired how fiercely she guarded her emotions, but watching her slowly open up to Christian? My heart was doing somersaults. Their chemistry had me laughing at two in the morning, especially as their connection shifted from a dangerous arrangement to something real.
The secrets and lies woven throughout the story kept me on the edge of my seat. Just when I thought I had everything figured out—BAM! Another twist knocked me sideways. I swear, I was stressed. And the spice? Whew. Keep a fan nearby for some of those scenes.
The emotional depth of this book hit hard. Both characters had to confront their deepest fears and traumas before finding their way to each other, and the payoff was worth every ounce of angst. When do two broken people start healing together? That’s the kind of romance that stays with you. Let’s just say I was shedding tears at 3 AM while my partner wondered if I was okay.
The side characters also deserve a standing ovation. Seeing more of Alex, Ava, Rhys, and Bridget from the previous books made the Twisted universe feel even more real. Their found family dynamic added another layer of warmth that I adored.
